The journey begins with the BLAKLADER IRON ROAD PROLOGUE, where 1,500 competitors fight for just 500 entry spots. This high-speed dash up a gnarly gravel road sets the tone for the days ahead, demanding both speed and precision.
The real test, however, comes with the RED BULL ERZBERGRODEO main event. Riders will need every ounce of their stamina, courage, and riding prowess to navigate the 23 checkpoints scattered across the brutal terrain. The Erzbergrodeo is a relentless battle against the elements and the mountain itself. Each year, only a handful of the 500 qualifiers manage to reach the finish line, underscoring the event’s reputation for toughness.
Side Events and Community Spirit
Beyond the main race, the Erzbergrodeo offers a variety of thrilling side events. The MITAS Rocket Ride challenges riders to conquer a massive uphill section, pushing their bikes and bodies to the limit. This event, a fan favorite, features a knockout format where only the fastest advance to the finals.
Friday evening brings the RAID OVER ERZBERG, a spectacular parade of over 3,000 motorcycles through the town of Eisenerz, celebrating the local community’s support for the event. The ONE-ON-ONE RIDER PRESENTATION gives fans an up-close look at the top riders, offering a unique opportunity for photos and autographs.
The action continues with the RED BULL ERZBERGRODEO ENDUROCROSS, where amateurs and pros alike tackle a challenging endurocross track. This event provides heart-pounding action and serves as a qualifier for a coveted first-row starting position in the main race.
