The 26-year-old Asian-Canadian racer and co-owner of Samantha Tan Racing (ST Racing) will once again grace the tracks, competing in the SRO GT World Challenge America series and representing BMW M at events across North America and Europe.
Tan, who has been with BMW M as an ambassador, has consistently demonstrated her passion and skill on the racetrack, earning her a revered spot within the motorsport community. In the 2024 season, she is set to co-drive a BMW M4 GT3 with Neil Verhagen in the Pro-Am class. The duo previously showcased their prowess by finishing second in both rounds at Virginia International Raceway during their first weekend together.
Expressing her enthusiasm, Tan stated, “Being a lifelong enthusiast of BMW, I am thrilled to continue my role as an official brand ambassador for BMW M Motorsport in 2024. This journey has been a dream realized, and it fills me with immense pride to represent BMW and race in their colors.”
Aside from her GT3 commitments, Tan’s 2024 racing agenda is packed with exciting engagements, including competing in a BMW M4 GT4 at the Long Beach Grand Prix weekend and select Nürburgring races during the summer. Her dynamic presence on and off the track has been spotlighted in the latest episode of BMW M Motorsport’s Mbedded series, giving fans an intimate look at her life in motorsport.
Adam McGregor, BMW NA Motorsport Manager, praised Tan’s impact, noting, “Sam’s approachability and boundless energy allows her to inspire fans of BMW M in a very unique way. Sam and ST Racing had a very successful 2023, and we’re excited to build on that success in 2024.”
Since its inception in 2017, ST Racing has clinched championships in the Pirelli World Challenge and the Pirelli GT4 America series in 2019 and 2020. The team made a significant mark by winning the 2021 24H Series overall championship, followed by a historic victory at the 2022 12 Hours of Mugello with BMW’s new M4 GT3, their first-ever overall win in the GT3 class.
