Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Racing Team Triumphs at the Old Gray GNCC
In an electrifying weekend of racing at the Old Gray GNCC, the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing Team clinched impressive results, with Craig DeLong securing a hard-fought fourth place and Korie Steede continuing her successful season with a third-place podium in the WXC division.
Craig DeLong, racing in the fiercely competitive XC1 Open Pro Class aboard his Husqvarna Motorcycles FX 350, exhibited determination and skill as he overcame initial setbacks. Starting from seventh at the outset, DeLong demonstrated a masterful recovery, navigating through the pack to finish in a commendable fourth position. Reflecting on the race, DeLong shared, “Today was a brutal one. It’s a new venue for the series, which adds to the excitement. Although the weather was challenging on Friday, it turned in our favor today, creating near-perfect conditions. We’re moving in the right direction with our results, and I’m eager to carry this momentum into Indiana.”
The team’s morale was further boosted by Korie Steede’s performance in the WXC class. Steede, aboard her Husqvarna Motorcycles FX 250, took her fourth podium of the year, securing third place. This result cements her standing as fourth in the overall championship rankings. Steede’s consistency and prowess continue to make her a formidable contender in the series.
Trevor Bollinger, another prominent racer from the Husqvarna team, faced a mix of fortunes during the race. Starting strong, Bollinger initially kept pace with the leaders but experienced a setback due to a mid-race crash, ultimately finishing seventh. “I had a good start and was feeling comfortable with the lead group. Unfortunately, the crash mid-race cost me, but I’m taking the positives from today’s performance to the next race,” Bollinger remarked.
The weekend’s races showcased the individual efforts of the Husqvarna riders, the team’s strategic prowess, and the resilience of their machines. As the GNCC series progresses, the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing Team continues to be a formidable force, showcasing their riders’ abilities to overcome adversity and compete at the highest levels.
The GNCC series is renowned for its challenging courses and the intense competition it attracts. This weekend’s race at the Old Gray GNCC was no exception, testing the mettle of all participants with its new trails and unpredictable weather conditions, which ultimately highlighted the skill and preparation of the Husqvarna team.
Looking ahead, the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing Team is set to compete in several upcoming offroad races including the U.S. Sprint Enduro Series, National Hare & Hound Championship, Grand National Cross Country Series, National Grand Prix Championship, and U.S. Hard Enduro Series, all scheduled for late April 2024.
