The KTM 790 DUKE Roars Back to Life with Fresh Looks and Performance Upgrades
Making its debut in 2017, the KTM 790 DUKE first stirred the motorcycle market, with over 29,000 units selling worldwide. The introduction of the KTM 890 DUKE R, also known as THE SUPER SCALPEL, followed in 2020. However, the KTM 790 DUKE got a power upgrade to the KTM 890 DUKE in early 2021, offering enhanced power and superior electronics.
As of 2022, the KTM 790 DUKE has continued the legacy of the KTM LC8c parallel-twin platform, delivering an unrivaled riding experience with its remarkable power and agility. Europe got to experience the 95 Hp version, allowing for A2 configuration, while the rest of the world received the full 105 Hp version. In 2022, the starting price was 8,999 € in Europe, with motorcycles being available at dealers from June onwards.
The heart of the KTM 790 DUKE is the most compact twin-cylinder in its class, generating 105 Hp and 64 ft-lbs of torque @ 8000 rpm. The engine has been specifically tuned for torque output, offering easy, rideable power. An impressive top end ensures that the KTM 790 DUKE keeps the excitement alive throughout the rev-range. Its modest fuel consumption of only 4.4 l / 100 km (approximately 53 mpg) means that riders can enjoy the bends long before the low fuel light starts to blink.
KTM has paid significant attention to ensuring that the KTM 790 DUKE retains its lightness, agility, and sportiness, with agile handling and precision geometry designed explicitly for sporty street riding. High-quality WP APEX suspension at both ends ensures perfect road connection and rider confidence at all times.
When it comes to electronic wizardry, the KTM 790 DUKE boasts the most advanced and complete package in the midrange segment. Standard features include lean-angle-sensitive Motorcycle Traction Control (MTC), cornering ABS with SUPERMOTO mode, three standard Ride modes to quickly alter the engine’s feel and MTC level, a full-color 5-inch TFT display, and LED lights all around. It also offers a range of optional features, including Quickshifter+ for clutchless up and downshifts, Motor Slip Regulation (MSR), TRACK mode, Cruise Control, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and KTM MY RIDE for hands-free phone and music connection.
KTM has introduced new decals and color updates across its 2023 STREET range, allowing riders to find a machine that matches their true READY TO RACE colors. The 2023 KTM 790 DUKE introduces two new colorways, a traditional KTM orange scheme and an all-new gray and black motif, which add to its already legendary performance and character.
With its return to the market, the 2023 KTM 790 DUKE is set to introduce a new generation of riders to the world of DUKE, carrying a revamped look to match its legendary performance and character.
