Giant Loop Ride Returns to Crane Hot Springs

New Routes, Training, and Adventure Await – May 29–June 1, 2025

Apr 1, 2025 | News

Giant Loop is back with its signature ride event, staking its flag again at Crane Hot Springs for an extended weekend of ADV and dual-sport adventure from May 29 through June 1, 2025. Now in its 14th year, the Giant Loop Ride has become a cornerstone of the U.S. ADV calendar, delivering a heady mix of epic terrain, expert training, gear demos, and deep community.

This year, riders can expect the usual wide-open high desert routes and high-caliber atmosphere—but with a few serious upgrades.

What’s New for 2025

The headline addition is exclusive access to the Malheur Cave, a privately owned lava tube system rarely open to the public. A one-day guided tour with lunch is planned, giving riders a break from the saddle to explore this subterranean marvel.

Also new:

  • HARD CORE Route: A challenging loop designed for those who like riding rough and raw. Expect rocks, ruts, and remote miles.
  • Expanded rider training from Greg Gordinne, Ricky Johnson Training Academy, and Adventure Rider Training (PNW)—covering skills from first-timers to Dakar hopefuls.
  • BDR Southeast Film Premiere: Be among the first to catch the new Backcountry Discovery Route film in a community screening.

The Ride Experience

Set amid the high desert basin of Eastern Oregon, Crane Hot Springs offers direct access to 750+ miles of GPS-tracked routes. Riders will choose 15+ curated loops and rally roadbook routes designed by the Giant Loop team, NW Roadbook Training, and 2024 Dakar finisher Willem Avenant.

When the day’s dust settles, there’s unlimited hot springs access, plus:

  • Demo rides from OEMs like Suzuki, Harley-Davidson, Royal Enfield, Kove, and Beta
  • Live music, happy hours, and guest speakers nightly
  • A vendor village with 20+ top names in the ADV and dual sport scene
  • Buffet-style meals (optional) catered by Cody’s Country Catering
  • On-site medical support from Adventure Medics

Who Should Go?

Whether you’re new to ADV or a desert-seasoned vet, the Giant Loop Ride offers something for every level. It’s not just about miles—it’s about community, skill-building, and immersion in one of North America’s most ruggedly beautiful landscapes.
