BMW Motorrad Unveils R 1300 GS Trophy Competition
and F 900 GS Trophy Marshal Bikes for 2024 GS Trophy in Namibia
Woodcliff Lake, NJ — BMW Motorrad has announced the introduction of the R 1300 GS Trophy Competition and F 900 GS Trophy Marshal Bikes for the highly anticipated BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy 2024 in Namibia. From September 15-20, 2024, 22 national teams, comprising six women’s and 16 men’s teams with a total of 60 riders, will traverse the rugged Namibian terrain on these newly developed motorcycles.
R 1300 GS Trophy Competition Bike: Engineered for Excellence
Specifically crafted for the GS Trophy event, the R 1300 GS Trophy Competition Bike embodies the spirit of adventure and endurance. This model is equipped with a robust boxer engine and an array of enhancements tailored for competitive off-road performance. Key features include handlebar risers, an engine protection bar, a skid plate, and a frame guard. Adjustable gear shift and brake levers, GS Vario rider footrests, enduro hand levers, a headlight protection guard, and white handguard extensions further augment its off-road capabilities. The bike’s aggressive off-road tires, mounted on black cross-spoke wheels, and its solo seat are designed to tackle Namibia’s challenging terrain.
While the competition bike is not available for direct sale, it closely mirrors the R 1300 GS Style GS Trophy model, available at BMW Authorized dealers. The Style GS Trophy model features the Enduro Package Pro and a distinctive Racing Blue metallic color with red and white stripes and lettering, complemented by a matte white metallic painted rear frame. These features are designed to evoke the same thrill and adventure that the GS Trophy teams will experience.
F 900 GS Trophy Marshal Bike: Guiding the Way
The F 900 GS Trophy Marshal Bike is tailored for the GS Trophy Marshals who will guide participants safely through Namibia. Based on the new F 900 GS, this mid-size adventure bike boasts a powerful 105 hp engine and a significant 22 lbs weight reduction compared to its predecessor. These enhancements provide a wider range of capabilities, making it well-suited for the demanding off-road conditions of the GS Trophy event.
