Triumph Unveils 2025 Speed Twin 1200 and Speed Twin 1200 RS
In an exciting announcement, Triumph Motorcycles has revealed two new models for 2025—the Speed Twin 1200 and the Speed Twin 1200 RS—further refining their renowned line of modern classics with enhanced performance, advanced technology, and updated styling. These motorcycles in dealerships from December 2024 showcase Triumph’s commitment to combining contemporary sports performance with classic design.
A Sharper, More Dynamic Experience
The new 2025 Speed Twin 1200 receives significant chassis upgrades, improving its already engaging handling. Featuring 43mm Marzocchi forks and twin Marzocchi rear suspension units with remote reservoirs, the bike is designed for riders who crave balanced and confidence-inspiring control, whether on the open road or through twisting corners. Alongside these mechanical enhancements, an extra 5PS of peak power has been added, making the ride more exhilarating.
With the addition of Optimised Cornering ABS and traction control, the Speed Twin 1200 seamlessly integrates cutting-edge technology, enhancing safety and handling without compromising the ride’s classic feel. This attention to blending technology with tradition is a hallmark of Triumph’s design philosophy.
Introducing the Speed Twin 1200 RS
Taking the Speed Twin experience up a notch, the new 1200 RS model offers riders a sportier, more focused ride. With repositioned handlebars, rear-set footpegs, fully adjustable Marzocchi forks, and premium Öhlins rear suspension units, the 1200 RS is built for those seeking an even more dynamic and engaged riding position. Equipped with Brembo Stylema calipers and Metzeler Racetec RR K3 tires, this model offers unmatched stopping power and performance grip.
For the first time, Triumph Shift Assist is available on a Modern Classic model. It allows clutchless up-and-down shifts for a smoother and faster riding experience.
Triumph’s Chief Product Officer Steve Sargent commented: “The new Speed Twin 1200 RS is more focused, more engaging, and with even sharper responses. It’s designed for riders with classic sporty looks who want the absolute best in dynamic performance.”
Striking Design Updates
Both models feature a refreshed aesthetic that stays true to their modern classic roots while adding contemporary flair. The Speed Twin 1200’s new tank design, with sculpted lines and a flip-up filler cap, integrates seamlessly with minimalist throttle body covers, showcasing Triumph’s renowned build quality. Black powder-coated engine casings and compact silencers enhance the bike’s timeless beauty.
The Speed Twin 1200 RS elevates the visual experience with bold Baja Orange or sleek Sapphire Black finishes, each with gold RS decals that complement the anodized suspension components. The seat is reprofiled for comfort and style, providing a sporty, napped finish with intricate stitching details.
Performance Meets Technology
Triumph’s high-compression Bonneville 1200 twin engine is at the heart of both models, which now produces 105PS at 7,750rpm and 112Nm of torque at 4,250rpm. Riders can choose between Road and Rain riding modes, while the RS model also features a Sport mode for sharper throttle response. The new LCD and TFT display adds modern functionality, including compatibility with turn-by-turn navigation and phone connectivity, all while maintaining the Speed Twin’s classic look.
On the Road
The Speed Twin 1200 will be available from £12,495, while the Speed Twin 1200 RS will be available from £14,495. Both models will hit dealerships in December 2024, and customers can explore and configure their own bikes at Triumph’s official website.
The 2025 Speed Twin 1200 and Speed Twin 1200 RS embody Triumph’s dedication to pushing the boundaries of what a modern classic can be. With cutting-edge performance upgrades, elegant design refinements, and advanced technology, these motorcycles are set to thrill both new and experienced riders alike.
