Triumph Triumphs at Motorcycle News Awards
Triumph Motorcycles has been named the 2024 Manufacturer of the Year by Motorcycle News (MCN), taking home six awards in the prestigious annual ceremony. This marks a significant moment for the iconic British brand, further solidifying its position as a leader in the global motorcycling industry.
A Year of Triumph: The Big Wins
The highlight of Triumph’s success this year is undoubtedly its recognition as Manufacturer of the Year. This accolade reflects the company’s continued innovation, quality, and impact. Triumph’s General Manager for the UK & Ireland, Devron Boulton, expressed immense pride in the achievement, stating, “Six awards, including Manufacturer of the Year, is a huge honor and recognition of the significant impact we have had in the UK motorcycling industry just this past year.”
Triumph’s Speed 400 was crowned the Overall Bike of the Year alongside the Manufacturer of the Year title. Launched at the start of 2024, the Speed 400 has quickly become a favorite among new and seasoned riders, praised for its stripped-back style, agility, and responsive performance. The judges noted its ability to charm a wide range of bikers, securing its place at the industry’s top.
This year marks the third consecutive year that Triumph has claimed the Overall Bike of the Year award, following wins by the Tiger Sport 660 in 2022 and the Street Triple 765 RS in 2023. The Speed 400 also earned the title of Best A2 Bike, further emphasizing its versatile appeal.
Street Triple RS and Tiger 900 GT Pro: Leading the Pack
The Triumph Street Triple RS, known for its 765cc triple engine, was awarded Best Performance Naked. Previously crowned Overall Bike of the Year, the Street Triple RS continues to impress with its balance of track and street capabilities. MCN praised the bike for pushing the boundaries of what a naked machine can do, calling it a blend of “super-naked and supersport.”
The Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro was recognized as the Best Adventure Bike (sub 1000cc) in the adventure category. The model, revamped in 2023, has been celebrated for its road-focused capabilities, lightweight feel, and superior suspension. MCN judges highlighted the Tiger’s reassuring ride quality and instant comfort, making it a top choice for road adventurers.
WoMCN Rider Bike of the Year: The Triumph Trident 660
Rounding off Triumph’s success is the Trident 660, which was voted WoMCN Rider Bike of the Year. The Trident has gained popularity for its fun, light, and well-balanced design, with features that inspire confidence in new and experienced riders. The bike’s punchy torque, power, and thoughtful design elements have made it a standout in the eyes of riders and judges alike.
A Landmark Year for Triumph
The MCN team summed up Triumph’s success by recognizing its accessibility, aspiration, and innovation across its range. Introducing new models, substantial domestic and international sales, and a continued push into new market segments contributed to Triumph’s impactful year.
All six award-winning bikes, along with their respective accolades, will be displayed at the Triumph Factory Visitor Experience on Wednesday, 9 October 2024, offering fans a chance to see what Triumph offers.
With these wins, Triumph continues to set the standard in motorcycling, combining heritage with cutting-edge performance and design, making it a brand that riders worldwide aspire to own.
