Two Machines, One Adventure Spirit

The spirit of the Dakar lives in every bolt of the new 2025 Yamaha Ténéré 700 and its rally-focused sibling, the Ténéré 700 Rally. Designed for adventure, this machine is built to tackle long distances, unpredictable terrain, and the toughest conditions a rider can face. With rally-inspired engineering, a powertrain built for endurance, and a chassis ready for off-road challenges, the T7 Rally is prepared for anything. Its bold stance, aggressive bodywork, and competition DNA make it a true expression of Yamaha’s commitment to exploration.

What makes this one of the most exciting adventure bikes of 2025? In this review, we break down every detail: power, suspension, technology, and everything you need to know before throwing a leg over and hitting the starter. If the idea of getting lost in a desert expanse or carving through forest trails stirs something in you, keep reading. This might be the moment you realize that your next great adventure begins with a Yamaha key in your hand.

Design, Chassis & Suspension: A Rally-Inspired Machine

The 2025 Yamaha Ténéré 700 lineup brings the essence of Yamaha’s competition bikes to life, offering both a balanced adventure machine and a rally-focused model for extreme terrain. Each version is designed with functionality, durability, and unmistakable rally style at its core. Every curve and component has been carefully designed to handle long-distance adventure riding, while maintaining a striking visual presence that stands out in any terrain.

The new bodywork is slim and aggressive, with a higher front-end stance and a minimalistic rear section, ensuring maximum rider control in both seated and standing positions. The redesigned one-piece rally seat improves freedom of movement, allowing riders to shift their weight seamlessly over rough ground. Yamaha also repositioned the fuel tank forward and lowered the fuel cap, improving weight distribution and handling.
At the front, the new LED headlight cluster echoes the design of Yamaha’s modern rally bikes. Four vertically stacked LED units sit within a lightweight aluminum frame, delivering improved night visibility and a fierce rally-inspired look. The adjustable windscreen and integrated handguards provide protection from the elements, making long-haul rides more comfortable.

Yamaha offers the 2025 Ténéré 700 Rally in Sky Blue, a tribute to the brand’s legendary Dakar machines of the 1980s. The deep blue bodywork is paired with golden rims and the iconic speedblock design, reinforcing its off-road pedigree.

Steel Frame & Off-Road-Optimized Ergonomics

The 2025 Yamaha Ténéré 700 is engineered for off-road durability and all-terrain control, maintaining a lightweight yet robust steel frame. With high ground clearance, long-travel suspension, and optimized ergonomics, it’s built to handle everything from technical rock sections to high-speed desert runs.

The Ténéré 700 Rally maintains its reinforced double-cradle steel frame, engineered to absorb impacts and provide stability on rough terrain. The frame’s high-strength steel tubing balances rigidity and flexibility, making the bike light and highly maneuverable while handling extreme conditions.

  • Wheelbase: 62.8 in (1,595 mm)
  • Ground clearance: 9.4 in (240 mm) (8.9 in / 225 mm for low-seat version)
  • Wet weight: 458 lb (208 kg) (including fuel and oil)
  • Seat height:
    • Standard: 34.4 in (875 mm)
    • Low-seat version: 33.9 in (860 mm)

Riders will notice a slimmer midsection, allowing better knee grip when standing. The fuel tank has been repositioned forward, improving weight distribution without compromising its 4.2-gallon (16L) capacity. The new rally-style one-piece seat is narrower and taller, offering greater mobility for aggressive off-road riding.

KYB Suspension: Fully Adjustable for Every Terrain

The Ténéré 700 Rally features high-performance KYB suspension, developed using Yamaha’s rally expertise. The fully adjustable front and rear suspension systems provide superior adaptability across varied conditions.

  • Front Suspension:
    • 43mm inverted KYB fork
    • 8.3 in (210 mm) of travel (7.5 in / 190 mm for low-seat version)
    • Compression and rebound damping adjustability
    • Preload adjustment with an easy-access dial

The reinforced triple clamps and forged aluminum upper bracket add stability while keeping the bike light.

  • Rear Suspension:
    • Monoshock with progressive linkage
    • 7.9 in (200 mm) of travel (7.1 in / 180 mm for low-seat version)
