The New Powerhouse: An 895 cc Engine

Each model in the 2024 lineup is powered by a new 895 cc parallel-twin engine, promising an exhilarating ride. The F 800 GS, ideal for entry-level riders, boasts 87 hp and 67 lb-ft of torque, while the F 900 GS steps it up with 105 hp and 68.6 lb-ft of torque, and a significant 30 lb weight reduction. The F 900 GS Adventure, tailored for long-distance tours, shares the same power output as the F 900 GS.

Advanced Features for the Modern Rider

The 2024 models are brimming with advanced features. Key highlights include:

  • Active Knock Control: Allowing a broader range of fuel use without compromising performance.
  • Riding Modes and Safety Tech: Standard ‘Rain’ and ‘Road’ modes, ABS Pro, and Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), with optional Ride Modes Pro adding ‘Enduro’ and ‘Enduro Pro’.

Drivetrain: More Power, More Torque

Developed by Christian Geis, Project Manager for the GS Models F-Series, the drivetrain in these models has been revamped for more output and torque, resulting in a significant increase in pulling power and acceleration. The larger engine capacity, updated cylinder heads, and new forged pistons contribute to this enhanced performance.

Suspension: Engineered for Adventure

Sergio Fossa, Product Manager for the F-Series, highlights the outstanding off-road qualities of the F 900 GS, thanks to its new suspension system and significant weight reduction. The F 900 models boast fully adjustable Showa upside-down forks, while the F 800 GS continues with its reliable 41 mm front forks.

Design: Athletic and Sporty

Under the guidance of Edgar Heinrich, Head of Design at BMW Motorrad, the F 900 GS especially stands out with its athletic, sporty design that embodies the essence of a BMW GS. The new models feature redesigned elements like the tank side panels and radiator trim, contributing to their dynamic appearance.
